Meet Mayko Chwen Wang who will be starting the ISC Paris Master Grande Ecole Program in September.
Please introduce yourself, where you are from?
My name is Mayko Chwen Wang. People call me ” Mayko ” like the shark with a y! I was born in Taiwan, and grew up in Taipei and America. I played competitive golf for over ten years. I hold a tour card in Taiwan. I will be joining the ISC Paris Master Grande Ecole Program in September. I will be specializing in International Business & Management.
Why did you choose to come to Paris and in particular ISC Paris?
I chose Paris because it’s a city that I want to learn more about the language and the culture. Paris has a great history and is a cultural capital. I chose ISC Paris because it is a great school, in a nice area, with a lot to offer. ISC Paris is a school that offers great opportunities for international students.
What do you look forward to learning in the program?
I look forward to learning in depth about management techniques, such as analyzing business reports for a company and offering solutions in order to improve.
How has it been adjusting to life in Paris?
It was not easy at first because of the language, it took me a couple of days to adapt to the environment and the pace. However, I love the beautiful architecture and the Paris public transportation system is very convenient. Currently I am very excited to start my master at ISC Paris in September.
What are your goals upon graduating from the program?
My short-term goal is to work at a company in Paris, and gain work experience. My long term goal and dream is to create start-up companies in France and Taiwan.
Any advice for others who are looking to study in Paris?
My advice is to learn French before coming to Paris, it will be very useful in the daily life here, in addition to searching for job opportunities. Most importantly, don’t forget to check off your tourist to-do list before leaving Paris!
